David Valentine is the President and founder of the IT recruiting company ValTech Recruiting, Inc., an Illinois registered corporation.

David has over 22 years experience in Information Technology. Prior to forming the IT recruitment firm, David spent 17 years with Motorola. His roles as Enterprise Architect, Portfolio Manager and IT Director, at Motorola provided him with a broad understanding of IT and enterprise business functions, especially finance. His experience includes:

  • Hiring, building, mentoring and leading run and build teams including permanent and contract staff
  • Leading and participating in global, cross-enterprise projects and initiatives including accomodating regional differences in processes and contracts
  • Building and leading a high peformance IT team for global financial reporting and analysis standards that were deployed to 2000+ users. 6000+ financial reports were reduced to 200
  • Extensive work with build, plan and run teams in the US, EMEA and Asia
  • Portfolio management, analysis and governance
  • Enterprise architecture definition and modeling
  • Enterprise asset and inventory management
  • Creating and analyzing tactical and strategic metrics
  • Organizational Change Management principles including identifying stake holders, priorities, road blocks and communication strategies
  • Complex vendor negotiations, SOWs, contracts and relationship management including CSC, Microsoft, Software Spectrum, Price Waterhouse, Bearing Point, IBM, Oracle, Hyperion and others.
  • Business Intelligence including global dashboard projects
  • Risk mitigation of Personal Information
  • Managing helpdesk, network and executive support

As a technical leader, David has interviewed and hired technical professionals throughout his career for permanent and contract positions. He always enjoyed learning about people and matching their goals to his needs. His main decision factors were motivation, technical competency and inter-personal dynamics with existing staff.

David is also a volunteer career search advisor with the Barrington Career Center.
